Rex's Day of Fun

Jeff and I wanted to do some fun things with Rex today, so we headed off to the Gardner Village petting zoo. The zoo part was closed, but the pony rides were still running. Rex was pretty excited to ride one, especially since he loves spotting horses as we drive down the road.
It was a beautiful day - the kind that gets you so excited about spring.
Rex loved seeing the fish and the geese there.
He thought the bridge was really cool.
Most of the time he doesn't like the camera, but every once in a while he'll charge at me while screaming, "cheese" and that's my cue that he's ready for a quick snap.
We picked up a little fudge at the candy shop. I think he liked it as much as his daddy and that's saying a LOT.
On our way home we stopped at a park for a few runs on the slide.
It's funny because these are all places I took him to a few times last summer, but now he's a little older and he really gets into it. It's fun to see him get so excited and to see him do things on his own. I don't even have to help him out at the playground anymore. My little man is getting big.

Seems like he was loving every minute of today! I bet he'll be waiting to go back to gardner village as soon as possible!

That park reminds me of living in the apartments and taking Cam all the time. It's a perfect spot!

What a fun time and your pictures with Jeff are priceless for Rex. I know how much his Daddy loves him. Great Job! I really love the "cheese" picture. What a grin. We love and miss you all.

I totally agree, it is so much fun to watch kids finally "get it" when it comes to playing, etc. I, for one, think that the "terrible twos" are totally better than the newborn phase which, while precious, is not quite as interesting. Rex is a pretty cute little boy!

Cheri how long have i known you 3,4,5 years i lost track after two. And to think of rex walking and talking is carzy bizirk no it can't happen he was just a tiny little thing and his first halloween had just come and gone then his first b-day then so on and so-forth. But now look at him going to start pre school in the next couple years, then hes going to need school supplies for "real" school, then hes going to ask to borrow money then before you relize it hes' going to ask to borrow the keys to the car and next you know it he's going to be going to collage! life flys!!
