Smiles

Here's Rex all dressed up for church today.
Kate gave Rex this blow-up pool for Easter and she recommended blowing it up and filling it with balls and toys to let him play in. It's been a hit. Thanks Kate! We just need to buy some more balls now.

More Giggles

Rex was is a really giggly mood after his dinner tonight, so I got out the camera. (Please listen to his cute laugh and not the annoying lady yelling, "boo, boo!" over and over again :)

Happy Easter!

Here is Rex all dressed up for church today, sporting a little Easter tie.
My favorite sound in the whole world is hearing Rex giggle. He thinks a lot more things are funny now and it's fun to hear his reaction. Here he is getting a little taste of my favorite pie. (It was Easter you know!)

The Great Hunt...

Today we went to Grandma and Grandpa Heatons to celebrate Easter. Here are some pictures from the great Easter egg hunt.
Ready, Set, GO!!!
There were eggs and kids everywhere!
Rex was pretty clueless, but he still had a great time.
Cam came too and he figured out what was going on pretty quickly. Here he is showing off his first grab. He made quite the haul :)
Little Lance was pretty excited about his squirt guns.
Here's beautiful, little Kambry.
Hugo was really fast, but he paused for me to take a picture.
Here's Autumn's giant smile.
Cam, Cassie and the haul.
Here's Kate and Dave watching the action.
Debra, Keith, Grandma, and Grandpa
Rex rounded up a new rubber ducky, which he fell in love with.
A great time was had by all. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for such a fun day!

"Ma-ma!"

Rex has been saying "Da-da" for over two months now. He chants it happily all the time. He often says it when he sees Jeff. It's sweet and adorable and...totally unfair! I've been working on getting him to say "Ma-ma" for months and months. You know, "Mama" - the one who changes 95% of the diapers...the one who gets up in the middle of the night to sooth him...the one who spent sixteen painful hours birthing him? Well, about two weeks ago he started saying "ma-ma," BUT he only says it when he's mad. Here's what I mean:

Jammie Time

Here's a little shot of Rex right before bed tonight. I love these little tight jammies because you can see how little he actually is. He's all about standing up and trying to walk these days. He seems offended when you sit him down. He's trying to become a big boy.

An Orange On A Toothpick

This is to all of you who have wondered at one point in time, "Is Rex's head as big as Jeff's?" While he does have a big noggin, it's definitely a long way from his daddy's and an even longer way from his mommy's :) Here he is playing with daddy's hat.

A Day At the Park

We had a really nice sunny day today, so we headed to the park. Rex really liked swinging.
Here's my sweet boy taking a break on the park bench.
Cam's not really into letting me take pictures right now. This is his face when I say, "Smile!"
Two little buddies taking in one nice afternoon.
...and it wouldn't be a day without Cam if he didn't pretend to fall asleep somewhere.
We're really hoping this means spring and that it's not just a tease.

One Week in a Picture

A picture paints a thousand words. That's right and here's last week in one picture. See, my little guy is having some teething issues and maybe some separation issues and whatever other issues you can have at his age. Don't get me wrong - he's still the cutest thing I've ever seen, but it's been a little rough around here.

Down With the Pizza Man!

Every couple of weeks Jeff and I like to order pizza. Of all the delivery options, I think Papa John's has the best pizza. However, I've found myself in a verbal dispute a few times with the worker who takes the phone orders. See, if you order online there are some great deals, but after I have taken the time to create an account, tell them everything about me, and place my order, the computer then tells me that I am not in their "delivery zone." This ticks me off because they've delivered to me many times and I just wasted ten minutes. (I'm embarrassed to admit I've done this more than once because I forgot about this complication.) So if Papa John's had great service you'd think they'd give me the same deal over the phone to appologize for my troubles. NO! I got reamed out by the worker for suggesting such a thing. He said if he gave me the deal he would loose his job. Honestly!

Well, the other day I got a coupon in the mail for the deal I wanted. I was excited to end my Papa John's strike. However, when the night arrived to order the pizza the coupon was nowhere to be found. I placed the call anyhow. Ring, ring....that voice again! While he's rude and condescending, I tolerate it because I can already taste the scrumptious pizza in my mind. I explain that I have a coupon and he starts interviewing me to make sure I truly have the coupon. He says, "You know you have to present the coupon to the delivery guy!" It's like he knows I've misplaced it and he's trying to destroy my pizza dreams again! I tell him I'm confident that I can find the coupon. When the delivery boy came, fate smiled on me. He didn't even ask for the coupon. VICTORY!!! I finally beat the pizza man at his own game! I got the deal I wanted, which made the pizza taste even better. I'm not their pizza fool!

A Little Splash

So it's still winter, but since we are trying to deny that, Cassie and I thought we'd take the boys swimming.
Rex LOVES the water. He isn't afraid of getting splashed and he tries to scoot to where the sprinklers are. I think he'd stay the whole day if I'd let him.
Cam wasn't big on me taking pictures today. He was sporting a new, cute paisley suit.
It was a fun morning....
...but eventually it had to end.
I can't wait till we can start swimming outside. It could really only help the color of my legs.

Two Little Buddies

Cam and Rex have become pretty good buddies. It's a little hard that they aren't at the same stage, but they find a way to make it work.
Here's Cam riding his little bike outside. He's one cool kid (sunglasses and all :)
Here's Rex watching him at the sliding door, wishing he was big enough to ride.
Here's Cam helping Rex out. Sometimes he thinks it's cool to feed Rex.

It was time for Rex to take another nap today, but Cam didn't think that was such a great idea. He started screaming, "Don't leave me, Rex!" It was hilarious. Here it is on video, but he doesn't scream it this time. It was even funnier before I caught it on camera (of course).

Sunday Best

Despite Jeff's personal opinion, I put Rex in a cute little vest and bowtie for church on Sunday. (Jeff's not a bowtie or vest man.)
He's one stylin' little man!

Rex in Action

Taylors, you asked for it and here it is. Here are a couple Rex videos I took the other day. The first one is of his basketball attempts. He often gets the ball in his hand and holds it over the hoop, but he refuses to let go off the ball to make a basket. It's pretty funny.

Rex is trying to figure out the whole crawling thing. He's still got a ways to go, but I love watching him try.
