My Mini- Jeff

As I'm getting to know my little Rex more and more each day, I'm starting to see the billion ways he takes after his father. It's pretty funny.
First of all, he is ridiculously good looking.
Secondly, he has the same hair-do, including the spot in the back that will not stay flat. (Jeff has to use a lot of product there :)
He can win me over with an endearing smile...
and has mastered the daddy scowl.
He has baby soft feet. (In the header picture, Jeff's feet looked wonderful and mine were the callused ones we had to photoshop.)
I love my boys!

Happy Anniversary!

Thank you for three wonderful years, Jeff. I love you so much and there's no one else I'd rather spend forever with.

Fun with Aunt Malinda

Malinda has been in town the last few days and today we got to hang out with her (and Madison, Sam, and Grant). We went to a little water park and had lunch. It was lots of fun.
Saturday we all met for pizza. Yum!
Rex had a great time talking to Grant. He would jabber really loudly until Grant would look and talk back to him. It was really cute. Grant was trying to help Rex look at the camera so I could take a picture.
Thanks for hanging with us, Malinda! It's fun to have you here!

This Little Cowboy

Grandma and Grandpa Heaton got Rex this adorable little rocking horse for Christmas and I've been dying to take a couple of pictures of him on it.
I've already planned his next room for a cowboy theme (that is, if he ends up liking cowboys).
His little shirt says, "I Stole Mommy's Heart." This picture shows that it might be time for haircut #6.
Click on this one to see it larger. Then you can see this little cowboy's first two teeth. Zoey - I think he got the two teeth you just lost :)

Another Haircut

I've posted a new haircut a couple of other times, but I feel like it always just looked a few inches shorter. On that note, I decided to pull out the big guns and go for a bigger change. I got bangs and a bit of an a-line cut. Don't worry - these won't be the kind of bangs that require a curling iron and a gallon of hairspray like in middle school. Here's the look:
I discovered that my camera has a self-photo button which enabled me to take a picture of my new do and also allows me to take priceless, loving pictures of my husband and I.

Boys, boys, boys

Here's yet another daddy and Rex pic. They're always my favorite.
Last week Cassie and I were at Costco with the boys. We put them in the cart together and Cam leans overs like this and says, "I LOVE you Rex!" It was so cute. I think he's ready to be a big brother.

Rex loves to talk. He started saying "da-da" almost a month ago, but it's always hard to catch it on camera. Whenever I turn the camera on he stops talking because he loves to stare at the camera and reach for it. He's fascinated by any little electronic device - the remote, my phone, etc. I had to catch him off guard so you could hear him talking.

In this one you can hear him saying "da-da," but mostly muffled by the ball he's holding. You get the idea, though.

The Boys

Here are a couple pictures I took today that I liked. Here's a close-up of little Rex.
The kid in me still likes building towers with blocks and the boy in Cam likes to push them over, so we make a great team. Here's the little guy with a special tower I made just for him.

Two Little Snags...

Rex is now 7 months old and we've had some monumental accomplishments in the last week. First of all, he's sitting up really well on his own now. Secondly, his two little bottom teeth just broke through! They are so cute, but I'm not going to hold him down to get a photo of that. He's growing so quickly now and I can't believe how fast it's all going by.

Bath Time...

Rex loves bathtime (and I must admit that I do, too). He loves to kick and splash in the water and I love to see him so happy.
Along with everything else baby-size, Rex outgrew his tub so I had to buy him something else. That way I don't have to fill up the whole tub and it's easier for him not to tip. He also adores the little rubber ducky in the picture.
He doesn't like getting out nearly as much and he hates getting dressed. (He is a MAN and if they had if their way the whole world would be a nudist colony!)

The Mini-Woobies

Rex has had a mini satin blanket since he was born and the last few months he's grown very attached to it. He has to have it next to him to take a nap and he pulls it over his face (satin side down, of course) to go to sleep. It was really hard to wash it between naps, so I decided to make some myself for him. Here's two that I've made.
It's satin on one side and super soft on this side. I sewed on some ribbons to make it cute and a little rubber button to top it off.
Here's the second one. It's leopard print on one side and black satin on the other. Yes, it's a little bold and diva-like, but he loves it. He even likes them as toys during the day. I don't know what's with this kid and satin, but they're inseparable.

The Little Scooter

Rex is enjoying being on his tummy a lot more now. He tries so hard to scoot around. He kicks his legs a flails his arms, not realizing that his tummy is still anchoring him to the ground.
You can tell he loves having me take pictures of him about as much as his father does.
This is his sweet, innocent face. It makes changing five poopy diapers a day tolerable.
