Today is our 5th year anniversary...

....and I wouldn't change a thing.

Jeff is an amazing husband and father.  He continues to exceed my expectations.  He is hard-working, funny, understanding, patient, and generous.  He is a lot of things that I am not.  He is the best thing that ever happened to me.  I love you, babe.

Scooting

Rex gets pretty excited when there is something he can do with Baden.  Today he got out his little rocket and so I put Baden in his walker.  They were pretty happy scooting around together.  I love seeing them play together.

I Am Momma - Hear Me Roar!

I wanted to tell you all about a new blog I'm starting.  The more I've gotten into crafting, the more I've wanted to share my ideas with others.  However, I don't like the idea of inviting a billion people to my personal blog.  So, let me introduce you to "I Am Momma - Hear Me Roar."

An Orange on a Toothpick

Well, these guys aren't the only ones around here wearing helmets.

Yup, Baden got a helmet. His head shape is pretty lopsided, so we took action. It's been a little hard to adjust to, but he's now wearing it 23/7. It's not really fun for either one of us, but hopefully later in life he won't be known as the kid with the weird-shaped head.
His little tufts of hair make their way out the whole on top. It's kind of funny. I got to pick the outside design and I thought this one was the coolest by far. No teddy bears for us!

Just look at that gummy little smile! He is such a trooper. Still no sign of any teeth, but he now says, "Mama!" He started saying it when we were in Wisconsin. It's funny...he only says it when he's upset - just like his brother always did.

St. George

We headed down to St. George this weekend for a little sun, family time, and bike time (for Jeff). Jeff found us a great place to stay. Rex was so excited to see the ducks and feed them. It was wonderful to be in some warmer weather for a few days. It makes me so anxious for spring.

Rex asks me a few times a day if it's summer yet. I can't wait till I can say, "YES!"

Our All Time New Record

All of Jeff's childhood toys are Rex's favorite toys - the Starcom guys and the Lego men. Rex will stack lego heads for hours and rearrange their outfits. He loves to load up these little boats with as many guys as possible. He needs my help for that. Everytime I tell him it's too full for another guy he says, "I want you to try." He's usually right. There's always room for one more. Well, the other day we fit our record high of lego men in the boat. It was a big day for us.

Rex was very happy...
...and that means so was I. It's definitely the little things in life.

The Reason

This is the reason I was willing to get on two planes with two boys last week. My parents have been serving a mission in Russia for the past year. Due to some health issues, my mom had to return to the states for surgery. They will be heading back to Russia next week, but I couldn't pass up the chance to see them. Especially since they have never met my little Baden. What a great moment.

Civility Lives On

I saw Oprah a few months ago and the subject they were discussing was civility. The whole point of the show was to state that people were unkind, unthoughtful, rude, and selfish these days. After I watched it I felt a bit down and the subject has run through my head a billion times. While I think there is a lack of courtesy to be seen, I am here to report that civility and kindness live on.

Yesterday I had to fly with my two boys from Wisconsin to Utah. I was a little nervous because I knew the first flight was a few hours delayed and I would probably miss the next one. Baden has a nasty cold and Rex is two. Need I say more? We did miss our connecting flight and didn't get home until a little before midnight.

As an answer to prayer, there were so many people who helped me along the way. A cute little old man working security set my stroller back up for me and wheeled it with my bag to a place I could sit to help my boys get their shoes back on. A flight attendant got me warm water for Baden's bottle. A kind man offered to eye Rex so I could straighten out problems at the desk. Another kind guy and his father carried Baden and my luggage off the plane, down to the baggage claim so I could carry Rex.

Well, we're home and safe and happy now. I am grateful to know that there are so many good, thoughtful, unselfish people in the world today. I hope to be one of them. Thank you random strangers. You got us home without any tears (well, at least none from me).
