This One's For Lec

Well, the squeaky wheel does get greased. Here you go, Lec. Here are some better, clearer face shots so you can see that he looks a lot like Cam. You can also check Cass's blog because I just uploaded the official announcement, including the mystery baby's name.
His eyes were a little puffy today, but you can see in this picture that he's already a thinker :)
He is so mellow and sweet.
Cassie and Chris have finalized the name and they are both happy with it! It's a miracle!

Visiting the Nameless Boy

Here's a picture of Cass and Chris's new little boy. They still haven't picked a name, but they are narrowing it down. Everyone now agrees that he looks just like Cam, but with dark hair. So far he's super mellow.
Here are some of the visitors. Rex giggles whenever he sees the baby and he's dying to touch him, but I've been holding him back (of course).

Sorry, Lec, but that's all I've got for now. No need to boycott - I'll keep them coming!

Welcome Baby Harline!

Cassie and Chris had their little baby boy today. Instead of posting it here, I did a post for her on her blog for everyone to see. He is cute and sweet and everything a little baby should be. Living closeby, I get unlimited squeezing rights! Anyhow, see her blog for the pics and stats.

He's Mobile!!!

Rex has been getting into the crawl position for months now, but has always refused to crawl. He hates being on his tummy, but he loves trying to walk. After months of trying to get him moving, we finally figured he'd skip crawling and just walk since he's getting pretty close. Then today happened. He crawled!!! He also figured out how to get up the stairs. I think he will sleep well tonight. Here's a little bit of the action:

My Big Boy

Rex is still really big for his age. I bought these crocks for him last fall. I bought them with a friend who has a baby a couple months older than Rex. Being the nerd I am, I also bought a few orange shirts for him to wear with them for the summer. The shoes are already almost too small while my friend's baby (2 months older) still can't wear them because they're too big. I guess we grow 'em big here, but I think we also grow 'em really cute.

Belly Dancing

Rex found a great new place to sit when chilling with aunt Cassie. Here is some belly dancing like you've never seen it before.

Funny Cam

I was at Cassie's today and Cam was telling my something. He speaks really clearly and it's pretty rare that I don't understand what he's saying. However, today I just couldn't figure it out. After listening to him say it about three times I yelled, "Cassie!" She was upstairs and I figured she'd be able to translate. Cassie didn't respond, so them Cam himself yells up to her, "WHAT IS CAMDEN SAYING????" I thought it was so funny that he knew I was confused and that was why I was yelling Cassie's name. He is such a smart little guy. I love it!

Lumberjack Jeff

On Saturday Jeff made the purchase that all men eventually make - a chainsaw. Now you know not to mess with him. Here he is taking down our big pine tree. (Okay, he's really just trimming off the dead branches.)

One Sweaty Little Napper

Rex gets super sweaty during his naps - even if I don't put a blanket on him. Here he is sporting some amazing nap hair. I didn't adjust it at all. This is all natural Rex and he's all mine.

Party in my Crib

Rex thinks he's hot stuff standing in his crib. He'll hang on forever.
His little shirt says, "Mr. Grumpy," which was unfortunately very true today.
It's a good thing I'm such a sucker for the little guy.

Who Needs A Playpen?

We have an ottoman with storage in it and Rex loves to hold on to it and shimmy along it. Today I thought, why not let him play in it? He thought it was pretty cool.
Here's my sweet little baby's face (with a bit of nap hair).
While the rest of his body is pretty thin, he's got some good-sized cheeks. (No, he's not swollen, Dad :)
He's become really good at pulling himself up on things.
While he only gets the binky at night, if he finds one lying around the house he will do anything to get his hands on it. He's very dedicated.

Fishing with Gramps

Here's a couple of pictures from when my parents were here. My dad is playing with a little toy fishing pole. Here's what he caught.
When I went to take this picture of Rex and my mom he smiled and smooshed his little face up next to hers. If you look closely, you might be able to see the four teeth that have come through on top. Yeah! More chompers means more fun food!
Here's Rex laughing with grandpa.

Wiggling and Giggling

My last post was about the garage re-model that went on while my parents were here. However, I forgot to post what was going on during the break time. Let's just say it wasn't all work.

Here are the little men keeping busy. Cam likes to push Rex around in his walker.
If you check Cassie's blog then you've seen Cam in action on his wiggle cart. He likes to ride the most when someone else will ride with him, so here's Rex and I taking him on. He also thinks it's a bumper car.

Project: Garage

Anyone who knows my dad knows he is a project man. He's been dying to fix our garage for a long time now, so this was the magical week. Here's a peek at the makeover.
As you can see, the drywall was never painted and there were tons of water stains. My dad spent a LOT of time patching the place up.
The garage had a lot of random junk in it and we purged a lot of stuff.
After the patching, there was a ton of sanding to be done. There was a lot of dust in the air and I just had eye surgery, so I busted out these fine goggles for protection. My dad and I had drywall compound everywhere. Our hair looked gray by the end of the day.
Under all that dust is my dad.
The walls needed some heavy-duty primer. This is the part where my mom (the fastest brush in the west) was a life saver.
After the primer came a nice coat of beige, some gorilla shelf assembly, a lot of organizing, and then - POOF! Voila! Here is the final project. There is now a place for everything and everything is in its place!
I am SO excited about our new clean garage! Thank you so much mom and dad for all your hard work! You can come park your car here anytime!

So You Think You Can Dance...

As I mentioned before, Rex loves music. When he hears music now, he often starts bobbing along. Here he is, busting out his best moves, at a restaurant. He's got moves you've never seen.

Slam Dunking

I did a post a couple months ago with Rex and his little basketball hoop. That was when he preferred to just chew on the rim. Well, he's got it all figured out now. Here's the little man in action. (Well, he still does love that rim.)
