My Twelve-eyed Monster

One of my sisters got Rex these googley eye stickers while visiting. I had kind of been saving them, but Rex found them and started carrying them around everywhere with him yesterday. He'd say, "googley eyes!" and laugh. They went everywhere and then while I started cleaning the kitchen, he got a bright idea. He came over giggling and saying, "cheek, cheek!" Here's what he looked like.
He's already at it again today as I'm typing this.
I don't know what we're going to do when the stickiness wears off.

My Metro Man

I was getting ready for church Sunday morning. I had actually selected my outfit on the first try and I was getting ready to do my hair. It was wet. Jeff walks by and says, "If you're going to wear that shirt you need to have a lot more volume in your hair."

I look at him to see if he's serious and ask, "Who are you?"

"Don't expect me not to have an opinion when you make me sit through all those what to wear shows and that design star one. I've picked up a few things."

Who knew. My husband has style. If you need a critique and Stacey and Clinton are busy, I'll give you his phone number.

Riding the Potty Train

This picture pretty much explains what we've been up to the last couple of days.
Let's just say it's a work in progress.
If you have an amazing tip, let me know.

Music Momma

For those of you who don't know, I was a singer/songwriter before I became a mom. Well, needless to say the music has fallen by the wayside in the last few years. However, I've had some fun things happen that I never shared. So, here's a music update for all of you.

1) A few months ago my web site got revamped. You can check it out here.

2) I am on this year's EFY CD. (For those of you who don't know, EFY is a youth camp put on by our church. There are tons of sessions held all over the US and every kid goes home with a CD.) It's not a sing from my album, but it's a version of "There is a Green Hill" from my friend's album that he had me sing on.

3) BYU has a small record label called Tantara Records. They are about to release a double CD that contains 25 songs from the best songwriters to come through BYU in the past 25 years. They are putting "Bulletproof Dress" on it.

Anyhow, sometimes I miss doing music stuff, but I've been blessed to still have good things happen while I'm busy being a mom.

Oktoberfest

On Saturday we headed up to Snowbird for some Oktoberfest action. It is so beautiful up there. Evertyime we drive up the canyon I feel so lucky to think that this is our backyard.
I have a lot of pics of Jeff and Rex like this, but I never get tired of it. It's so fun to see them together.
I also love that Rex will wear a hat. I am such a sucker for hats on my boys.
I got to carry the little nugget, who isn't so little anymore.
After running around all over someone else needed to be carried, too.

My Big Boy

Here's a picture I took the other day and played with. This big boy is growing and learning so fast. Most recently, he loves piggy-back rides and he says, "Good job, Mommy!" when I do something he likes. It's pretty cute.
Lucky for me, he still likes to snuggle. He'll ask for a snuggle randomly throughout the day. I love it.

Play Date (Emphasis on Date)

Rex had a play date with this beautiful little girl our friends have. We wouldn't mind if things "worked out" someday :)
Honestly, look at that sweet little face. She is a doll.
Here's a shot I got of my blue-eyed boy the other day. He is such a sweetie and he really knows who his mommy is. I love it.
Jeff had Labor day off, so he and Rex had some bonding time. Rex just loves being with him. He is sporting a little Argentina soccer jersey that Aunt Cassie found him in Mexico. (That's where Jeff served a mission.)

the "F"s of Summer

Well, the summer is coming to an end. Rex and I have played a lot and learned a lot. Here are some of the things we've figured out:
Rex is now old enough to have stinky little feet. He has one pair of sandals that fits him well and they happen to make the stink factor even worse. You have to clear the room when he takes them off :)
Rex has become more and more boy-like. He loves banging things together, wrestling around, and even falling (unless it's an accident).
Rex doesn't spend a lot of time walking places. He likes to run, even though his funny little run doesn't get him there that much faster. I love to watch it, though.
It's been a good summer. We're glad to have Baden in our club now and it's helped Rex learn to play alone more.
Sometimes I wish he was big enough to do certain things, but then I see his sweet smiling face and I wish that he will stay this way forever. I love you, little man.
