We Have a Date!

I had a doctor's appointment yesterday, and to my surprise my doctor said that since I'm on baby #2 he'll induce anytime after 39 weeks. He told me to pick a date, so the little guy will be making his appearance on May 28th (unless by some freak chance I go into labor early). That's 4 weeks from today! Yee-hoo!

Things I'm Looking Forward To:
1) The end of reflux, heartburn, and indigestion.
2) Meeting the little guy who's been kicking me for months.
3) Seeing Rex hold and kiss his little baby brother.
4) Losing my "outie" belly button.
5) Taking a billion pictures of the new man.

Wisconsin! Oh Baby!

So, most people probably don't get super excited about Wisconsin. However, I have two fabulous sisters who live there and Rex and I just spent the last week there. Cass came too, so we had all the sisters there for some quality bonding time.

Here are a few of my favorite random shots from the trip:

This is 'lil Em. He is the only person I know who lives completely on cereal. He likes Lucky charms even more then I do (which is pretty amazing). I had to get a shot of him in action.

Rex loved seeing and playing with all the big kids toys. This one seemed to be his favorite. I guess he's a Harley man at heart.
How many kids can you fit in a wagon when everyone wants in and no one wants out?

Here's little Chloe (with her motherly instincts) deciding she needs to feed Rex part of her root beer float. Rex had no complaints about that.

It's funny to see the little cousins pull the bigger ones up on the zipline. You have to make sure you've been nice to them or they can leave you tied up there forever.

Thanks to my fun sisters and their sweet kids, we had a wonderful trip. It's so fun to catch up with them and see the amazing families they are raising. You ladies rock!

The Gang

Between the four of us girls there are 11.9 kids. I tried to get a shot of each of them. Here is the crew in order of age.

Coop - the most endearing little guy you've ever met.

Rex - the kid who thinks he needs to be eating every second.
Chloe - aka the tornado...don't be fooled by those innocent curls.
Cam - the charmer, working the camera for me here.

Emerson - the injured squirrel, very funny and animated at all times.

Max - adorable, but partner in crime to Rugby which can mean trouble.

Rugby - also a charmer, but best to stay on his good side.

Zoey - jumproping extrodinaire and ray of sunshine.

Breckyn - the girl who is constantly scheming how to take over the world.

Caleb - official cool kid, whatever he's doing is automatically cool.

Maddie - world's best helper and most likely to talk her parents into letting her stay up late.

Rex's Day of Fun

Jeff and I wanted to do some fun things with Rex today, so we headed off to the Gardner Village petting zoo. The zoo part was closed, but the pony rides were still running. Rex was pretty excited to ride one, especially since he loves spotting horses as we drive down the road.

It was a beautiful day - the kind that gets you so excited about spring.
Rex loved seeing the fish and the geese there.

He thought the bridge was really cool.

Most of the time he doesn't like the camera, but every once in a while he'll charge at me while screaming, "cheese" and that's my cue that he's ready for a quick snap.

We picked up a little fudge at the candy shop. I think he liked it as much as his daddy and that's saying a LOT.

On our way home we stopped at a park for a few runs on the slide.

It's funny because these are all places I took him to a few times last summer, but now he's a little older and he really gets into it. It's fun to see him get so excited and to see him do things on his own. I don't even have to help him out at the playground anymore. My little man is getting big.

The Boy Cycle

These first four pictures are from over a year ago. Cass and I would take Cam and Rex to swim at this rec center and they loved it.

This was Cam's favorite number to pull in the locker room.

Now this one is from yesterday. You'll notice he's still pulling the same tricks.....

...but he's also taught his sidekick.

Now there are three little men to enjoy the water. Coop loved it, too.

We'll see what the picture looks like in another year.

The Heaton Egg Hunt

Here are a few pics from the Heaton family Easter egg hunt we had at our house on Saturday.

The little ones get a head start. You can tell that Rex is still trying to figure out what's going on.

Then it's "ready, set, go" for the big kids.
There were lots of places to hide the eggs in our yard.

Tanyon hunted so well that he found random items from the old home owners.

Is it just me or is that guy on the right a little too old for the hunt? He's helping Cam....sure.

We did run into a little rain during the hunt...

...which meant all the adults watched from the windows.

The hunt was a success.

It was so fun to have everyone over. It was our first get-together at our new house. Thanks everyone for coming and helping out so much!

Happy Easter!

If I had a girl I would buy her an Easter dress. However, I decided I could still get Rex some new threads for Easter. Here he is in his little Sunday outfit today.

Jeff is an amazing father and seeing these two together makes me incredibly happy. It makes Easter mean more because I am even more grateful for all the Savior's has done for us. It means we can be together forever. I can't think of anything better than that.

Boys, Boys, Boys...

I got to watch Cassie's boys yesterday. Sometimes Cam and Rex get along really well. Occasionally they struggle. Today they were especially cute. They like to hug a lot and I caught a quick one on camera. It seems like Cam is protecting him.

There's a small space between this media cabinet we have and the wall. Cam has taught Rex that it's a garage for all his cars. They also like to squeeze into the spot for fun.

Rex gets so excited to see Cam that he can get a little slap-happy. He'll thunk Cam on the chest like he's saying, "Hey buddy!" and Cam doesn't understand why Rex is pushing him. I try to explain that he's just really excited.

Watching more kids than you're used to? Here's a recipe for a good time.

Step 1 - Find a bathtub and fill it with balls.

Step 2 - Fill the same bathtub with boys.

Step 3 - Let them throw the balls, scream, roll around, and do their worst.

Cassie's youngest is also fun for Rex. He loves having someone around who's littler. He thinks it's his duty to cart Cooper around in this walker and give him a tour of the house. I guess he doesn't understand the "walker" part of it.

Well, between the Cass and I we'll be up to four boys in a month and a half. Yikes!

Mama Didn't Raise No Fool

I gave Rex an oreo the other day and I noticed that he's devised his own way to eat it.

Step 1 - Break the cookie apart.

Step 2 - Use your index finger to scoop out and eat the filling.
Step 3 - Assure yourself that you have removed every little bit of filling possible.

Step 4 - Tell mommy you're done.

He won't even touch the cookie part anymore. He knows what's good 'cause Momma didn't raise no fool.
