Sew Busy

I've been really into the idea of "refashioning" shirts lately. I tried my hand it this before, but this time around I found a blog that had some cool ideas. (See the "crafty inspiration" link called "my mama made it.") Here's what I made yesterday.
I used scraps from old shirts I don't wear anymore, so the only expense is the plain shirt and I did buy these buttons because I really liked them. They are oval-shaped and wooden.
On the child front....we bought Rex a piggy bank. It's only natural that he will become a penny-pincher. He's our child. I used to ask my mom if I could have the money she was going to spend on the happy meal instead of getting it. She never said yes, but I kept trying. I also might have sold oragami at recess in third grade. Anyhow, here's our little tightwad now.

I love how he has his little lips pursed. It requires a lot of concentration, you know.

I can attest to the happy meal and the oragami. Cheri you are a piece of work. I love that he's got a piggy bank. I frequently visit my kid's when I'm low on cash and can't get to the bank (shhhh, don't tell anyone). I love the shirt. I have been scheming a plan for mine. I just bought one at Target yesterday and I have a great idea from that site. I love it! Go Crafter!

Even Dad loved the shirt and said Even Dad loves the shirt and said that you can do anything. Rex does not look sure that he wants to give up his coin. You will soon be telling him he has to pay for something himself and his response will be your old one...if I have to pay for it myself then I don't really want it! Oh!I can't wait to see how this all plays out!!!
Love,
MOM

He is destined to be a tight wade like you and Jeff...don't worry I will show him where the car aisle is at the store and his piggy bank will be empty!
