Up to and In to

Rex has been changing and growing so quickly lately. I wanted to write down some of his latest tricks and things he's into before I forget.
1) In the past month or so Rex has been discovering new things he can do with his body. He'll strike a pose, like holding up a leg or squatting and say "Mom! Wook at dis! You like it? You like it?" He wants to show us his every move. I am usually rolling on the ground when he does this. It's hard to convey how funny it is just by writing about it. Here's an example of one of his poses.
2) He's still wiping off most of my kisses. His latest comeback is telling me it's too early for kisses (just like I tell him it's too early for candy).

3) He still loves Jeff's Starcom guys, but also enjoys the Lego men as well. He likes to see how many heads he can stack on one body.

4) Rex hates having his diaper changed and has come up with some good stories to avoid it. He was poopy yesterday and I called him on it. He denied it and I asked what was the poopy smell. He told me it was dog poop. Funny, especially since we don't have a dog.

5) He is using his imagination a lot. He loves to play imaginary catch, which he came up with on his own. He'll announce that he's going to throw the ball and then he wants you to catch it. Turns out I really am athletic because I have some serious imaginary catch skills....and all this time I didn't know.

6) The other day I was showing him the pictures of him I have on the sidebar of the blog. I explained that the first one was baby Rex and that he kept on getting older and bigger. All of the sudden Rex started clenching his fists and teeth and shaking. I said, "Rex, what are you doing?" He replied honestly and innocently, "I'm trying to grow!"

Here's Rex and I the Sunday before Christmas. I love this amazing little boy.

Florida Adventures Part 2 - the zoo

The day after Chrismas we all headed for the Tampa zoo. It was a fabulous zoo and I think we all had a great time. These two led the way.
They had a little play area there that Rex and Grant liked.

Here's Jeff seeing just how close you can get before you get your eyes pecked out.
The cousins were so fun and so sweet with Rex and Baden.
They had a lot of areas where you could touch the animals - or try to.
Rex had so much fun with grandma and grampa.
He even got to style the goat.
Grant thought the goats were pretty cool, too.
Malinda, Madi, and Grant RODE A CAMEL!!! Now that's a cool zoo!
A close-up of the riders.
Rex got to ride his daddy - not quite as exciting, but free :)
Malinda and her great kids.
It was a fun-filled day. Rex made it through all of it but the last five minutes. He crashed in the stroller.

Florida Adventures Part One - the park

Malinda has a great park close to her house. We rode her bikes over and played for a while. The area is beautiful.....so green, tons of trees and landscaping, lakes, etc. Anyhow, here's aunt Malinda helping Rex climb the ladder.
This is Malinda's newest addition - Izzy.
"No mom, I am definitely NOT throwing sand since you told me not to."
Cousin Grant is also NOT throwing any sand.
Catching a father-daughter moment.
Here comes three little boys down the slide.....one...
....two (realizing he's a bit too big for this)....
...and three.
We didn't make it to Disneyworld, but the nice thing is - I think Rex is just as happy to be at the park.

We're Back!

We got back late last night from our trip to Florida. I've got lots to post, but I'm going to pace myself. Anyhow, here's a couple of pictures from Christmas eve. Malinda got everyone matching jammies. Here are the ladies. No, we didn't have to wear the antlers to bed.
Here are the men.
Here are the little men. They looked so cute all matching.
We had a great trip. Now it's time for some serious catching up on sleep (for the boys) and laundry/cleaning (for me).

We're leaving tomorrow for Florida. We're going to visit Jeff's sister for Christmas. Anyhow, here's a little blog-Christmas card for all of you.
Rex the reindeer....filling out his antlers more now than he was then.
I am so grateful for our newest little star. 2009 was good to us.

Santa came Friday night. Here's a little clip of half-asleep-Rex seeing the tree with presents under it for the first time. I love hearing his little voice, especially when he's all excited.

Temple Square

Christmas has been SO fun this year because Rex is starting to understand so much more. He was really excited to see the lights at the temple. It was so beautiful.....but very cold.
They even have a little nativity in the reflecting pool and it has little floating candles in it.
We had to bundle the boys up extra well. This little guy was a trooper.
Yes, my classic shot. You see, when the boys are longer willing to let me take their pictures, I drag behind and secretly take more. I love seeing Rex's little face over Jeff's shoulder.
Then, we headed home to get ready for Santa. He came that night at our request, since we'll be out of town on Christmas. It was so fun to get everything ready and just to sit on the couch with just the Christmas lights on.
I have a billion more things to post. I have some projects to show, some quirkly Rex details to share, and much more. Stay tuned.

Christmas Cards Anyone?

So, I've had our Christmas cards sitting on the table for a few weeks now. Whoops! Things have been quite busy. Anyhow, if you'd like me to send you one, please e-mail your address to me at cheri@cherimagill.com. Yeah, that's kind of tacky, but I don't have a lot of addresses. Thanks!
