Like a Kid in a Candy Shop

Leca was in town for a few days to meet Cassie's new baby. We took her to this really cool toy store we have nearby. Let's just say toy stores aren't just for kids.
My dad makes a pretty mean pirate.
Leca just needs a peg-leg and she's set.
Everybody needs one of these.
If Leca's kids play soccer, she's going to wear this on the sidelines, cheering them on.
This is fierce me.
Dad found the puppet section and got a little out of control.

The Boys in Action

I think Cam hasn't quite realized that Rex isn't a little baby anymore. He asks to hold him sometimes, even though they are almost the same size. Rex doesn't like being held down, but if it's Cam, he actually likes it. They make quite a pair. I love it.

Cassie and I wanted to video Cam saying his new brother's name. He says "Coooooper Gwaahhhnt" and it's adorable.

I'm very proud of this next one. I've been working with Cam, teaching him about opposites. He learns so quickly and he's so sharp, not to mention cute.

This last one is the only time I've caught Rex doing "so big" on camera. It's not his best one, but at least I caught something.

Paris Hilton - eat your heart out!

Here's Rex borrowing Grandma's Paris Hilton shades. He thought they were pretty cool.
Sunglasses and a binky? Life doesn't get much better than that.
Now that Rex is on the move he finds new parts of the house to explore everyday. Yesterday was my closet today was the end table with baskets. Overall, there is one thing that is always his favorite - my laptop. If it's open he will do anything to get to it. This is how he gets there (and this video is his slow-motion-I-need-a-nap-version).

My Sweet Husband

Jeff and I have been married for over three years, but I am still trying to understand him and figure out exactly how his mind works. I figure, if can get inside there, maybe I could figure out a way to get him to pick up the pile of clothes on the side of his bed. Maybe I could convince him that eating leftovers won't kill him.
Well, here are two things that definitely motivate him. ONE. A sweet young girl came by our house selling newspaper subscriptions the other day. We don't get the paper. We don't want the paper. However, she gave her saga about wanting to go to vet school and she told Jeff she had a chihuahua. Now we get the paper. It's everywhere. I think we have enough to recarpet the house with it. Thank you chihuahua girl. We really needed that.
TWO. This has occurred more than once. When Jeff sees a commercial from Dairy Queen, he LITERALLY leaves the house that instant to go get it. This time it was the brownie explosion sundae. It comes in a waffle bowl, you know. He had to have it.
So, how can I make this all work for me? If I can get Dairy Queen to start advertising leftovers I'll be set. AND maybe if I tell him there a sweet little girl with a chihuahua stuck under his giant pile of clothes, he might pick it up. Until then, I'll just enjoy his brownie sundae.

Dino Park

Saturday we decided to let Rex take advantage of his new mobility, so we set off to the play area at the mall. It's one of those areas my sisters might deem too disguisting to let your kids set foot on, but we decided to go for it. There were lots of bigger kids there and Rex seemed to think he was one of them.
He cruised along holding onto anything he could find. You see, he can crawl, but he prefers cruising by far. Crawling is only a last, desperate measure.
He was pretty proud of himself.
I love this little man. It's so fun to watch him grow and change. He keeps getting smarter, faster, blonder, and funnier.

This One's For Lec

Well, the squeaky wheel does get greased. Here you go, Lec. Here are some better, clearer face shots so you can see that he looks a lot like Cam. You can also check Cass's blog because I just uploaded the official announcement, including the mystery baby's name.
His eyes were a little puffy today, but you can see in this picture that he's already a thinker :)
He is so mellow and sweet.
Cassie and Chris have finalized the name and they are both happy with it! It's a miracle!

Visiting the Nameless Boy

Here's a picture of Cass and Chris's new little boy. They still haven't picked a name, but they are narrowing it down. Everyone now agrees that he looks just like Cam, but with dark hair. So far he's super mellow.
Here are some of the visitors. Rex giggles whenever he sees the baby and he's dying to touch him, but I've been holding him back (of course).

Sorry, Lec, but that's all I've got for now. No need to boycott - I'll keep them coming!
