Bye, bye commercial real estate...Hello professional racing!
So back in January for Jeff's birthday I got him a little driving package at the Bondurant Racing School in AZ. We planned for me to do concerts that weekend and then saved our Saturday night for his driving experience. (They only offer it a few times a year.) I'm pretty sure Jeff would love to throw in the towel with commercial real estate to pursue driving, as would almost any man. Here are the pictures:
Just like a football picture, it's not cool to smile when you're a racer. It's also not cool to have your wife following you around taking pictures, but the pictures will help me remind him later what a cool wife he has for picking such a fun present.

He got to drive a Cadillac CTS around the race track first.

Then they timed him driving a Mustang around a bunch of cones. (Notice I don't know how to explain it in a cool, manly way.)

The last part was go-carting. They put all the driviers on teams and had a one hour race with pit stops and everything. Jeff was his team's coach. Needless to say, there was a lot of testosterone and competition in the air.

I love Arizona!
Jeff and I went to Arizona this weekend and we had a total blast. We stayed with the Hensons, who also arranged a bunch of concerts in the area for me. I got to do a house concert there, an institute concert/talk, a stake youth fireside, and a girly breakfast. The breakfast included about 30 of the cutest little girls from ages 4-13.
This was my first trip ever to Arizona and I loved it. It won't be our last. Here I am with the Hensons. You can see my tummy is still getting bigger.

Little Bryce knows all the words to all my songs. He is so cute and so much fun!

Allyson was the hostess of the girly breakfast. I think she liked having girls outnumber the boys for once. She is so sweet and fun!

Thank you Cheri, Otis, and family for such a wonderful weekend! We love you!!!

The World's Worst Blogger
So, it's official - I'm the world's worst blogger. I was great for about two weeks, but then I realized that until I have the baby there's really only so much to blog about. I can only post so many pictures of myself, you know! I've recently been informed, however, that I can do an entry without pictures, so here goes.
Our weekend highlights:
1) Jeff and I took second place at his company bowling party. I think Rex might be a good luck charm...or it could be my Wisconsin roots. I mean I do have bratwurst-eating skills, too. I bowled a 157 and Jeff bowled 166.
2) Jeff played a mean game of softball. Unfortunately, his teammates didn't play quite as well as he did and the score reflected that.
3) Jeff and I went to our first gun show. Yes, it's true. My husband has a new hobby. Don't mess with him.
4) I performed for a youth conference and a bunch of young women lined up to have me sign their paper plates. They didn't have anything else for me to sign, but they were really excited. It was hilarious.
Yes, it was a pretty eventful weekend for us. Normally we see a lot more of the couch, but this weekend we were adventurous.
Lesson learned this weekend: You can bowl a lot better if you have a bowling ball in your tummy.

Flat Breckyn
So, if you haven't heard of "Flat Stanley," then I need to do some explaining. "Flat Stanley" is a children's book about a little boy who gets flattened by a bulletin board. Don't worry....he remains unharmed and he has many adventures as a flat boy. He can slide under doors, fly like a kite, and even be sent in the mail. My little niece read this story in school and then they got to make flat versions of themselves. So, I was asked to take "Flat Breckyn" on some adventures in Utah. Here they are:
First of all, Flat Breckyn really liked the mountains. She was amazed at how big they were, since in Wisconsin the hills are pretty little.
Flat Breckyn took many drives with me to see Utah. She especially liked feeling the wind in her crayon hair.
I took Flat Breckyn to visit her aunt Cassie's new apartment. She thought it was styling!
Flat Breckyn especially liked playing with Camden in his crib because she could slide in and out of the wooden slats and make Cam giggle.
Flat Breckyn was amazed by the beautiful, warm weather. While she knew it had been snowing in Wisconsin, she enjoyed the spring tulips already blooming in Utah. This made her think about moving to Utah.
Last of all, because of her small size, Flat Breckyn loved riding my little dog Blue just like he was a horse! Blue is going to miss her.
Breckyn, Thanks for letting me have so much fun with Flat Breckyn. I love you! Good luck with telling your class about the adventures. Now, what I'd really like to know is when is the real Breckyn coming out to visit?

the Nursery...
After the many requests, I finally took a picture of the nursery. It's still not done, but you can see the feature wall (checkered pale blue and green) and the rest of the room is painted blue. In this picture the checkered wall looks weird, like the background is pink. It's actually creme and looks a lot cuter in real life, but until you each personally visit to see it, this will have to do.
