Happy Birthday Cam!

Just thought we'd give a little shout out to Cam, whose b-day is today. We love you, Cam! You are a great nephew and cousin!

A Chris Barlow Rival

Okay, unless you know my brother-in-law Chris Barlow or have seen his senior pictures, this won't make sense. Sorry. Anyhow, Cassie came up with the idea to snap a pic of Cam just for Uncle Chris when Cam was dressed up like this the other day. Chris, I think you might be right. He wants to be a Barlow when he grows up. Now we just need to enlarge this baby to life size.

One Big Cowboy!

Last night my little cowbay slept in his big boy bed for the first time! He did a great job. Here's a preview of his new cowboy room.
This wall has a toy rifle displayed that was Jeff's when he was little. Then there's a place to hang his hat, boots, rope, and handcuffs. The barrel below was made by Jeff's dad and Jeff used it as his laundry hamper while growing up.
The previous owners had the room painted like this. It's kind of a mountain scene and it actually worked out perfectly for our cowboy theme. The little valence has cowboy hat lights strung along it. There's the rocking horse from grandma and grandpa Heaton, that inspired the room.
I did a little painting that's supposed to look like Rex on a horse. I found the bookshelf on clearance at Wal-mart for $25 and added some bins.
Here's the best part - the bed. I drew up an idea and my dad cut it out, my mom painted wood lines, and I stained it. Tah-dah!
Here's the view when you walk in the room. Yee-haw! Now I just hope Rex likes it as much as I do!
Here are some of Rex's latest tricks and incidents:

1) While my parents were here we did a lot of home improvements projects, including painting. Rex was really good about staying away from the bucket, until he couldn't resist anymore. I was painting the bathroom and when I looked down he had dipped the entire toilet brush into the paint and was ready to help. Nasty!

2) Rex says, "Burrrr!" whenever we go outside. He gets that it means it's cold. He had his 18 month appointment the other day. He was really good while the doctor checked him out and when the doctor put the stethascope on his chest he said, "Burr!" I thought it was so cute. When he says it it sounds more like, "Boooh-aahhh!"

3) Rex's new stats are head: 97%, height: 97%, weight: 25%. He's our tall, skinny guy.

A Few Clips

Here's a clip from a few weeks ago when Rex decided that jumping was the coolest thing ever. I don't think he even gets any air, but he is so proud of himself. He has also learned to say "cheese" to the camera.

Today Jeff and Chris found a new way to play catch. Our wooden floors are super slippery and while I've almost wiped out a billion times, they are good for something.

Happy Birthday Jeff!!!

Today is my hot hubby's birthday!
Here he is with his giant, slightly-forced smile. Jeff, you are the best husband and father!
I feel blessed to have you and mini-you. Rex and I both adore you.
I also love the way you're never afraid to be your real self.
I love you, babe! Happy Birthday!

The Little Shadow

My parents have been in town for a visit before they leave on a mission to Russia. They have been helping us out with a billion little and big things around the house.
Wherever this guy is...
you'll find this guy, too.
If this guy is up on a ladder....
this guy is on his little ladder, too.
We're trying to make the most of every moment before grandma and grampa leave. Thank you for ALL your help, Mom and Dad!

My Man Rocks!

Today Jeff had a big day. He was selected a few months ago to speak at this big real estate convention with all the big companies and investors. Today I got to go watch. The room was full and he was at the head table. (I would have taken a picture, but I didn't want to embarass him.) He did a fabulous job with his presentation. I was so proud of him. He loves his work and excels at what he does. He is an amazing husband and father on top of that, too. Way to go, Jeff! You are the BEST!!! We love you so much.
