My Little Buckaroo

Here's my little cowboy. He has these little hand-me-down cowboy boots that I couldn't resist putting him in. His little onesie says "I'm in charge around here" and sometimes that's the truth. All he has to do is smile and his dad and I melt.

We're working on holding his head up. He has a noggin like his mommy, so it's no easy task :)

Look at this little cowboy! He's getting big and strong so fast. He loves his bumbo seat (thanks aunt Jodi). He coos and laughs a lot. He's in the 97th percentile for weight and length which means my biceps are growing quickly, too.

Rex's First Haircut

Last week I decided it was time for Rex's first haircut. His hair was getting so long that it wouldn't stand up and it still wouldn't lay flat very well either. Here's how it went...

BEFORE:

Mid-haircut: "What the heck are you doing to me mom?"

As you can see, it's still the same Rex. Don't worry - I didn't take off that much and I swear it's all already grown back AND he didn't loose his strength like Sampson. Seeing that both grandpas still have a full head of thick hair, I think it's just going to keep coming in thicker and thicker, faster and faster. Thanks for the great genes grandpas!

Why I Love Wisconsin

So when it comes down to it, it's not the beer and the cheese that makes me love Wisconsin. It's all these faces. Rex and have been back in Utah for a few days now, but here are some pictures I hadn't posted yet.

More Wisconsin Fun...

Rex and I are still having fun in Wisconsin. The girl cousins are especially crazy about Rex. Maddie's holding him while Zoey's entertaining him with her stuffed chicken.

Maddie is a great mini-mom. I'm hoping she wants to move in with me to be my nanny. Somehow I don't think her mom is ready to give her up, though.

Chloe is hard to win over, but she's no longer giving me her big scowl. We're making progress.

Rex and I are in Wisconsin and he's getting to meet some very special people. Here he is with Yaya. He just loved her (and I think the feeling was mutual). He smiled for her and even fell asleep on her lap.

Rex still adores his aunt Leca. His hair is slicked down in this picture, but it's still him.
Rex remembers Grandma quite well and he even got to meet Superman.

The Storytelling Festival

On Friday I had a gig at a storytelling festival. It was fun, but super hot outside. I talked Cass and Cam into coming too, since I heard they had puppet shows that Cam might like.

Here's Rex and I after the gig. He chilled with Aunt Cassie while I sang.

We had lunch at the festival, which included some chocolate cake. You can tell by this picture that it was a hit. (This is after the clean-up.)

Next came the puppet show. Cam really liked it (for at least 15 minutes). See how into it they are?

Beware of Sharks...

Aunt Jodi and Max sent this adorable jammie set that says "beware of sharks," since Max has a shark obsession. Here's the full body shot.

You might notice that the shark and Rex have the same hair-do.

Rex's cheeks just keep filling out...which means there's more of him to squeeze!
