These Boots Were Made for Walkin'

I bought these golashes for Rex a few months ago simply because I thought they were really cute. The fun thing is, he actually really likes them. He brings them to me in the house to put on him.
They are a little trickier to walk in, not to mention run.
You might be thinking to yourself right now, "Man, Cheri needs to give that boy a haircut! Yikes!" While that is true, it's super crazy here because of his nap and I'm letting it grow for his Halloween costume. Just wait and see....it's going to rock.
He loves his playset - especially the slide.

Are You Kidding Me?

I've been excited to take pictures of Rex in autumn leaves for months now. The problem is I woke up today to 3 or 4 inches of snow. The leaves haven't even fallen yet. I was outraged.
Someone, however, was pretty excited about the snow.
Here's the little man all dressed up for church today. Since it was cold, I got to bust out this adorable little hand-me-down sports coat. Check out those elbow patches...smooth!
After church I let him "discover" the snow himself.
He kept trying to pick it up and give it to me.
There was a day long ago when I thought I only wanted girls. What was I thinking? I don't think they make them cuter than this and he's all mine!

Having a Ball

While I haven't been the world's most exciting blogger lately, I do have my reasons. My parents were in town last week and this week Rex got strep. Yup, my poor little guy has been miserable. Anyhow, here's a picture of how he's most likely to be seen lately....with a ball in his hand. He carries at least one wherever he goes. He's doing lots of new fun things everyday, but nothing that he will repeat on command. He's a stubborn little guy......don't know where he gets that from. It could only be his father, of course :)

Banana Boy

Well, as you can see, Rex loves bananas - especially when grandma is feeding them to him.
Whoa, that's a big bite for a little guy.
Here are the chipmunk cheeks.
Rex also loves exploring in our backyard.
He still hasn't figured out how to break out....thank goodness!
He loves his birthday present from Grandma and Grandpa Heaton, but he thinks it's a climbing toy. He's practicing his tap dancing here and making his mom nervous.
When he got tired of being outside he went in and accidentally turned the TV on super loud with just static. He came out crying and scared. It was pretty funny.

Changing Leaves

My parents are in town this week. We took a drive up into the canyon yesterday afternoon to see the beautiful, changing leaves. Of course, I had to bring my camera.
You might notice they both have their reading glasses with them. You never know when you might need them in the wilderness.
They were watching Jeff and Rex play in the stream below.
My parents are goofy and giddy together. It's pretty cute.
Here's the little man, who absolutely loved being up in the mountains. He's a nature boy.
He would tried swimming if we would have let him. The water was very cold, though.
Rex's teeth have now come in a lot farther, so he doesn't have to smile that big to show them off. I love his little toothy grin.
Rex is now saying words like bath, ball, Jeff, and Dad. He likes to laugh when he hears everyone else laugh. He is still dancing anytime he hears the faintest sign of music playing. He keeps me entertained and on my toes.

Baby Lily

Today I had the wonderful pleasure of meeting and shooting this adorable little girl. Here's a sneak preview....
She was such a happy little girl.
Check out these teeny-tiny shoes!
I bought this cool vintage suitcase for the shoot.
My beautiful niece, Chelsea, came along and took some great shots as well. This next shot is hers. She's very talented and I had so much fun with her there.
Who doesn't love tiny baby feet and who wouldn't want to pack her in their suitcase?

This is her sweet mom, who is so in love with her little one.
Thanks Natalie, Lily, and Chelsea! I had so much fun with you guys!

Friday Date Night

Our date nights haven't been quite the same since we had Rex. We rarely get a babysitter, so most of the time it's the three of us. Tonight we went to the good petting zoo that lets you walk around with the goats. As you can see, Rex isn't exactly intimidated by them.
I think the baby goats are so adorable. Unfortunately, you can't pick them up though.
Now as much as Rex is a mini-Jeff, I believe Jeff is very much a mini-Larry. There's a picture in his photo album exactly like this (except Jeff was the baby then).
Jeff got some fudge. I love this picture because Rex tugs on his hair like this when he really wants something. It's one of my favorite little things he does.
