Our Little Get Away....

Jeff scored the husband of the year award by getting us tickets to see Wicked in L.A. So, we left Rex for the first time and headed off to Hollywood. Here's Jeff posing in front of the Holly wood sign. You can't see the sign in this picture, but I had to beat off the women who flocked around him with a posing like this.

You can kind of see the sign here.
We rented a convertible to make the most of the whole so-cal experience.
We even drove up as far as you can to the sign. There are homes all packed in all the way up. It's crazy!
We drove to Santa Monica on Sunday. Here's yet another fabulous pose from my husband:)
Thank you, Jeff for a fabulous weekend of feeling like a kid again. Thanks you Cass and Chris for watching Rex and teaching him to nap. Do you think you could potty train him the next time we go away?

Boys and Cars...

There's just something about cars that boys love even from an early age. Here's a pic of Cam and Rex enjoying the ride the other day at Home Depot.
Rex doesn't quite have his limbs under control yet, so sometimes he swats Cam a little. Then Cam leans as far away from Rex as he can and yells, "No, Rexito! No, Rexito!" Chris started calling Rex that when he was first born and now Cam won't call him anything but that. It sounds funny coming from him, though.

The Sneaky Sleeper...

You know how kids think the same thing is funny over and over again? Well, Cam has been doing his fake sleep routine for months now. However, I must say that I still think it's hilarious. Here's how it typically goes:

Gotta love that kid!

Tummy Time...

Rex has been pretty sick with a nasty cold, but today he finally seems to be feeling a little bit better. We've been working on getting him to do what I call the army scoot. (You know - what they do before they crawl.) You'll notice here that half his hair likes to stand up and half likes to lay flat now, so I stopped fighting it today.
Tummy time is a lot of work....
and it requires a lot of resting after holding that noggin up!

Six Whole Months Old!

Rex is 6 months old today! On one hand that seems impossible and on the other it seems like he's been with us forever. He has been such an amazing blessing and I feel so lucky that he's ours. Here he is all dressed up for church today.
Jeff disputed this outfit today, but mommy won. I thought the mini-bowtie was hilarious. He had his fourth haircut a couple of days ago. He's a happy, drooling machine.

Our "Solid" Little Guy...

Rex will be 6 months tomorrow, but we started him on solids a couple of weeks ago. He's a big boy. He wears the 12 month size for pretty much everything already. Although this looks like chocolate fondue, I'm definitely not that nice. It's prunes and they're his favorite. He LOVES to eat and he'll let me know if it's been more than one second between bites.
I don't try to make Rex and I match, but sometimes I dress him and myself according to how I'm feeling that day. Here's our tech vest day.
He's trying so hard to sit up on his own, but he's still pretty wobbley. The shirt he's wearing is hilarious. It says, "Trike Races at 3 o'clock." I love it when he has anything related to bikes, since Jeff is so into them.
I also love this stylin' hat. Thank goodness for great hand-me-downs. (Thanks Cam!)
My big, solid boy has also already outgrown the limits for his carrier. That means I now have to put him in a coat and try to prop him up in all the grocery carts with blankets. Cam was really excited to ride with Rex for the first time at Cosco yesterday. He held his hand all through the store and showed him the ropes.

Wisconsin Recap...

Jeff, Rex, and I headed to Wisconsin right after Christmas for a little visit. Here are some of the pics:
Zoey is a big fan of Rex. Here they are having a little jammie time fun.
Here's Jodi with Rex. His shirt (courtesy of Aunt Leca) says, "I Still Live With My Parents."
Chloe was the princess of every party. She no longer gives her famous scowl, but has recently replaced it with her cheesy smile. It's super cute and easily wins anyone over.
Here's a little bit if man time - Max, Caleb, and Grandpa.
Here's Chris and Mads, who is looking so old I can't believe it! (Maddie, that is - not Chris!)
Okay, I got a little obsessed with Chloe and Rex pictures, but it was so cute. She wanted to hold him all the time. (She also attempted to steal his binky a few times.)
Clhoe is a year and a half, but she and Rex aren't that different size-wise!
Jeff had a great time playing the Wii at the Barlow household. Here he is getting beat by little Rugby.
Max and Grandpa.
Here's Maddie with Rex. She has some serious mommy skills. I'm still trying to convince Jodi to let her be my live-in nanny :)
Here's Jeff with Rex right before we headed to the Great Wolf lodge. (Rex is even wearing a Wolf hat here.) He loved the pool. He kicked around like crazy.
Here's Zo getting a little more time in with Rex.
One more Chlo and Rex shot. They both have goofy faces in this picture.
Rex is a big fan of Aunt Leca.
Here's Jeff playing cars with Emerson.

We had a great time in WI. Thanks everyone for making it so much fun. We love you and miss you already!
